How long have you been Upcycling/Refashioning/Recreating Clothing from thrifted textiles?
Since I was a child. My first customer was my only doll.
How did you get started in Upcycling /Refashioning?
As I said before I did it for my only doll. I grew up in an disadvantaged family, clothes were rarely bought. I refashioned my mom`s clothes for myself which she did not wear for a long time
Why do you Upcycle/Refashion/Recreate clothing from thrifted textiles?
I want to prove that sustainable fashion is viable and exciting. I love the idea that I can give second life to useless, unfashionable things and I`m really worried about our planet ecological situation and well-known that new clothing production is harmful for it.
What type of clothing do you like to create and why?
Dresses and skirts. Only woman can to wear them, femininity has great power.
What is your favorite textile to Upcycle/Refashion/Recreate from? and why?
Everything that inspires and make motivated to do with it something cool.
What was your favorite project?
I love all my projects, each in its own time. Maybe black and green sweater-coat that I created within my collection "Imago"
I like to describer my Upcycling as:
The main thing is that it is wearable and suits my taste. It depends on raw material/garment, I`m very flexible.

How long have you been Upcycling/Refashioning/Recreating Clothing from thrifted textiles?
I have been upcycling since I was 13 years old. It was simply much cheaper to buy thrifted clothes than new fabric when learning to sew.
How long have you been sewing?
Since I was 11 years old. I used my mother´s sewing machine and then when I was 13 my nan gave me her old sewing machine. I have sewed ever since.
How did you get started in Upcycling /Refashioning?
It started because I had the coolest cousin who showed me the joy of second hand shops, since then I have worked in different second handclothes sorting plants, so I also had an easy access to a lot of fun stuff to make from.
Why do you Upcycle/Refashion/Recreate clothing from thrifted textiles?
The first answer was for the financial reasons, because we have asome really cheap and good thrift shops here where I live. But I also hate to think of all the clothing just ending in landfills and how so many people are so stuck with what they wear. I like to challenge that by using second hand stuff when creating my own wardrobe.
What type of clothing do you like to create and why?
Clothes that I feel comfortable and beautiful in, and that represents my personality with a bit of a fun edge.
What is your favorite textile to Upcycle/Refashion/Recreate from? and why?
Duvet covers are so big. so I love that you can treat them like normal fabric. Apart from that, I have made the most things from scarves. I have so many cool scarf tops and dresses. I always love them and how fun they are to make. https://skandimama.com/scarf-refashioning-bonanza/
What was your favorite project?
A one hour sew along LIVE for a sustainability workshop. It showed me how much I could make in an hour. Even though I normally like to take a bit more time. https://skandimama.com/upcycling-challenge/
I like to describe my Upcycling as:
Colorful and simple.
